The article talks about the 46 native animal breeds in Catalonia. 30% of them are in danger of extinction because people brought foreign species here, which where better for livestock. Now it's up to us to protect the native catalan animal breeds.
I think the article is important because we need to protect those things that make our region different from others, such as the native animal breeds. It affects me and people around me basically in the same way: we lose some of the local culture and history. But some people don't consider it important like I do.

ome examples of native catalan breeds are:-The catalan donkey is the national symbol of Catalonia. It's a black donkey with a white muzzle. Some years ago, though, it was in danger of extinction. Afortunately it was saved thanks to a raising fame in the USA.
-The pyrenean mountain dog was used to protext sheep from predators. They were kept all their life with the flock, so it was like their family and they protected it.
